Heather began her career in senior living working as a board-certified music therapist in a nursing home. Seeing how much fun the activity staff had with the residents, she transitioned to working in life enrichment. Her favorite part of the job was to successfully get the residents who never wanted to participate out of their apartments to enjoy life. Throughout Heather’s fifteen-year career, she has worked in memory care, assisted living, and independent living. Heather began working on the administrative side of senior living as the manager of an adult day center, which led to her desire to become the executive director of an assisted living community. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Dementia and Aging Studies. In her free time, Heather plays the alto saxophone in the Fort Worth community band, flute at her church, and enjoys independent films. She hopes to continue sharing her love of music with the residents at Dancing River.
